Rockfall and erosion protection

Protection of infrastructure, settlements, and landscapes from natural hazards. Slopes and waterways must often be secured against rockfall, avalanches, flooding, and debris flows. Cianross landslide at St. Vigil in Enneberg, Italy

On the afternoon of April 22, 2006, a major slope failure occurred at Cianross, resulting in the collapse of the mountain station, a support structure of the ski lift of the same name, and the associated ski slope. The landslide, followed by mud and debris flows, also affected the areas below, causing damage to infrastructure and nearby buildings.

Crëp dl Sela landslide, Corvara (BZ)

In April 2014, a major landslide occurred above Corvara, at Crëp dl Sela, directly threatening residential areas as well as the supports of the Sella Ronda ski lift. The event caused significant damage to existing infrastructure and was followed by several subsequent landslides in the years that followed. The municipal administration of Corvara commissioned EUT Engineering to plan and supervise the extensive clean-up and safety measures. In addition, a geotechnical monitoring was carried out.

Rockfall protection dams Frizziau

According to the hazard zone plan, parts of the ‘Frizzi Au’ landfill site in Pfatten were exposed to rockfall riskl. To mitigate this hazard, comprehensive protective measures were planned and implemented. EUT Engineering was responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial studies and detailed planning to safety coordination and construction management. As part of the project, more than 600 meters of protective dams and barriers were constructed, providing long-term protection for the landfill site and the surrounding areas.
