The Municipality of Partschins was searching for ways to operate the lido using renewable energy, as the existing solar absorber mats had to be replaced and the roof refurbished. EUT developed an energy concept in which electricity generated by a PV system is used via an air-to-water heat pump to heat the swimming pool. Since the lido is only open during the summer season, the heat pump operates with a very high efficiency. Surplus electricity can be used through AID (remote individual self-consumption) to cover partially the energy demand of other municipal buildings.
The Municipality of St. Leonhard in Passeier assessed approximately 9,000 m² of municipal roof areas for the installation of photovoltaic systems and established a priority ranking. Criteria included roof condition, exposure, ease of installation, and building energy consumption. A 32 kWp PV system was installed at the municipal depot, reducing the building’s electricity consumption by nearly 50%.
